1. What makes True North different from traditional therapy?

Traditional therapy can take months, years, or even decades to produce a breakthrough — and even then, you might never get to the root cause. All while draining your wallet every week. At True North, we don't do the traditional, extraneous therapy models. We don't just "fix" your problems and send you on your way. We believe that any true work done on oneself must be fully acknowledged and come from within. You are the butterfly, and we are the tree branch. We're here to support and guide you through your next metamorphosis.

 6. What is QHHT and why does it take so long?

QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique) is a deep-level hypnosis that takes you to the somnambulistic level — the deepest state possible. It involves past life regression followed by a conversation with your subconscious mind to reveal the deepest secrets you've kept from yourself. These sessions typically take 4–8 hours and require some prep work beforehand. They are recorded so you can listen back. These sessions are often life-changing and have been known to heal deep emotional and physical wounds. **Please inquire ahead of time by calling or emailing us.**
---
7. What should I ask during a QHHT session?

This is totally up to you! You can ask anything you have ever wanted to know or ask. In a QHHT session, you're supposed to write down every question you've ever had for yourself. Examples include:
- Why was I born here?
- Why was I born into this family?
- What is my life's purpose and calling?
- What is blocking me from ____?
Bring your deepest, most honest questions. This is your chance to get real answers.

8. What is Reiki healing with horses?

This is one of our most popular services — and for good reason. You'll lay down on a massage bed and get comfortable while a practitioner performs a Reiki healing session on you. At the same time, a horse uses their grounded, intuitive energy to help move stuck energy, recharge you, heal emotional or physical damage, and help you make discoveries about what's blocking you. The session includes a sound bath with crystal singing bowls. It's deeply relaxing, almost addicting — and incredibly effective.

10. Do you take insurance?

We are diligently working toward acceptance of most insurance providers and are actively securing grants to help those who may not be able to afford treatment. Dr. Susan Brown does take insurance for medication management and psychiatric services. For other services, please check with us directly to see if your plan covers them. We will work with you to make it work.
---
11. What if I can't afford it?

We never want money to be a barrier to healing. We are happy to set up packages and payment plans upon request (with Dr. approval first). We also offer a sliding scale and are actively working to secure grants for those in need. Just talk to us. We'll figure it out.
---
12. Do you offer group sessions or events?

Absolutely. We can do private sessions or group sessions at the farm. We also customize off-site retreats, specialty rides, and corporate events. We've worked with schools, 4-H groups, women's empowerment groups, couples, corporate teams, and more. If you have a group or event in mind, reach out — we'll build something custom for you.
---
13. Do you only work with horses?

While our focus is equine therapy, we also utilize our other farm animals. And we offer a wide range of modalities beyond equine work — from hypnosis and QHHT to yoga, Reiki, art therapy, and medication management. You don't have to be a "horse person" to benefit from what we do.
---
14. Is my information private and secure?

Absolutely. True North respects and follows HIPAA compliance and your privacy. Your information is safe with us.
---
15. How do I book a session or retreat?

---
16. Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. We offer classic talk therapy (DBT, CBT, NLP) and hypnosis sessions via Zoom. QHHT must be done in person. For everything else, we can often accommodate virtual or hybrid options — just ask.
---
17. What's the deal with the horse metaphor — "they always know their way home"?
Horses have a strong internal compass and therefore seem to never get lost. They typically use their senses to help them navigate their way back to the barn, to their herd, to safety. At True North, we believe the same is true for you — you just might have forgotten the way. We're here to help you find your way back to your truest self. That's what "True North" means.
